For last two days you might have seen a BFF comment status in many Nepali Facebook pages in which you can see text as in attached image. You can see message like “Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, invented the word BFF. To make sure your account is safe on Facebook, type BFF in a comment. If it appears green, your account is protected. If it does not appear green, change your password immediately because it will be hacked.”

Some Nepali page admins got fooled by believing in facebook post of  some facebook users and translate that post in Nepali and started sharing same message "Facebook, or Zuckerberg, has introduced the word ‘BFF’ as a method to determine if anyone's account is at risk of hacking" because of their little knowledge.

Yes, it is true that typing BFF into Facebook, makes the letters turn green, but then, this is in no way an indication that the security of your account is at risk. This word, “BFF” is a special word chosen by Facebook, that upon being typed, it produces a brief visual animation to appear on the screen. If you have already tried word congratulations, congrats or बधाई in Nepali you might have noticed animation after you post these words in Facebook. Facebook has included word 'bff', 'Xoxo' and "thank you so much" in same list therefore all of those words come with their own colors and animation effects.

BFF is also a special word listed by Facebook which means Best Friend Forever and it’s used by many people using English language, typing this word in the comment shows two hands ‘high fiving’ after posting. You can also try it by taping/clicking on the green BFF which will display two hands ‘high-fiving’.

I would like to request you all to check Facebook news or Zuckerberg timeline before following these types of rumors because you can prove it by checking Zuckerberg post as he used to share all the important news of Facebook in his timeline.
