Microsoft Teams New Features: Multi Video View, raise Hand, End Meeting, Background Effects & Meeting Options New Microsoft Teams April 2020 Updates According to Teams blog post published yesterday it is rolling few more features in Teams lets have a look on major 5 updates. 1. Number of simultaneous videos in Teams meetings In latest April 2020 update Microsoft has increased the number of participants who can be viewed simultaneously on the Teams meeting stage is updated to 3x3 from 2x2. In 3x3 9 videos of attendees with camera enabled and recently speaking can be viewed during a meeting. I’ve not seen it yet in my Teams account, let’s sit tight as it is a staged rollout and can take up to a couple weeks to reach everyone. 2. Raise Hands Excuse me! The new “raise hands” feature in Teams allows meeting attendees to identify that they wish to speak, making it easier to actively participate in large meetings. Everyone will see a visual cue on the attendee—as well as in the participant list that prioritizes who raised their hand first—and can give them the room to participate in the conversation at hand. 3. Background effects I’ve already seen this feature in my Teams account which Keep the focus on attendees—not what’s behind! This new feature in Teams allows meetings attendees to customize their video background from a list of pre-selected images. According to Teams blog this feature is available in most of the account and it will continue enhance this new feature by include the ability for users to upload their own custom images. 4. End the meeting for all participants Meeting organizers are now able to end the meeting for everybody, so that all participants are made to exit the meeting. Within the meeting control bar, only meeting organizers will see an item that says "end meeting.” It can be best in education especially for teachers as they need to ensure that students leave the meeting once class is over to ensure their safety. 5. Meeting option This new feature is useful for teachers with this teacher can set students as attendees by changing presenter to only me. This feature was rolled out already and let’s hope in new feauture updates teachers will be able to completely close the class meeting too.
